Free Gaza!

Monday, April 23rd, 2018

Last night, (70th of the fall of Haifa), we illuminated Haifa for Gaza, and to express solidarity with the tragedy of the residents of Gaza and to call for an end to the siege and the occupation!

For several weeks demonstration in Gaza met by extreme brutality and violence resulting in casualties and many wounded protesters. Every week since the Great Return March started, Israel has placed troops along border with Gaza with the stated intention to shoot to kill Palestinians demonstrating. So far 37? Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,500 injured with live ammunition.

For as long as the siege continues, for as long as the occupation continues, we will continue resisting the oppression and violence, and call for liberation!

Haifa Calls for Freedom for Ahed

Monday, February 12th, 2018

Haifa Calls for Freedom for Ahed

The military court extended the detention of Ahed Tamimi (16 years, from the village of Nabi Saleh) until the end of her trial by the criminals of the occupation. The judge said Tamimi’s actions “testify that she is not at all afraid of the security forces, and that she despises them…” and then claimed that she “exceeded the limits of legitimate resistance.” It seems that the judge came from a planet where the occupation is revered, and the occupation authority determines the legitimacy of the resistance. We salute Ahed in her detention for resisting the occupation, and for exposing the hollow vanity of her torturers.

Ahed Tamimi was born under the occupation and grew to rebel against it. The Israeli occupation forces stormed her family house at night to arrest her. As her mother, Nariman Tamimi, arrived at the police station to support her daughter, they arrested her also.

Despite the fact that their arrest received such publicity, it is not at all exceptional. Arbitrary arrests, which affect even minors, as a tool of repression and intimidation, are a common practice of the occupation. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been arrested, 6742 of them in 2017 alone. These days more than 7,000 Palestinian languish in the occupation’s prisons, including more than 400 minors; 58 of them Palestinian women, including 10 minors.

There is a new initiative for activists from various movements and parties in Haifa to initiate solidarity action with Ahed and Nariman Tamimi and with all Palestinian prisoners.

We call on all those who believe that the real crime is occupation and not resistance to join us and demonstrate on Saturday 27/1/2018 at 18:00 in the of Basel Al-A’araj junction, where Allenby Street meets the German Colony, in Haifa.

• Freedom for Ahed and Nariman Tamimi!

• Freedom for all prisoners of the Palestinian struggle for freedom!

The Case of Dareen Tatour – call for fund

Monday, May 1st, 2017

The Palestinian poet Dareen Tatour, an Israeli citizen,  who is accused of “dangerous incitement”, has been incarcerated for over 18 months now. The flimsy evidence is a poem she wrote, translated incorrectly by a police officer, and a Facebook post quoting another Facebook post.

The targeting of this young woman, and the incredible assault the State of Israel is launching on her personal freedom, has become a symbol for the Israeli authorities’ campaign against freedom of speech and artistic expression, alarming many in Israel and all over the world. An unequivocal call by the International writers association PEN for her release last September was ignored.More Internatinal petition by Jewish Voice For Peace Ignored,

After the first 12 months of her arrest (three months in different prisons, than draconian house arrest with no access to internet communications) the law firm of Advocate Gabi Lasky, a leading human rights campaigner, agreed to take over her defense. For more information about the case please read professor Kim Jensen’s recent article The trial continues: Dareen Tatour and the crime of posting while Arab. Also see  Free Dareen Tatour on Facebook.

Dareen’s next hearings are scheduled for March  27, 2017

Legal costs are way beyond her family’s means. (They already paid for a year of unsuccessful litigation.) It is up to us, people alarmed and disgusted with the targeting and bullying of open-minded writers and political activists, to offer our support.

We must start an efficient fund raising effort to block the silencing of Dareen. A long and costly legal battle is expected. Unfortunately, in view of the ridiculously manufactured accusations, we cannot foresee a logical end to this absurd trial in the magistrate court with a clear-cut and just acquittal for Dareen. Israeli judges are no heroes. The government and Israel’s fanatic Jewish nationalistic public opinion constantly bully them. However, we must see this battle through the higher courts. Dareen Tatour’s voice, and ours, must be heard.

Our initial target for the fundraising is $25,000. :

Stop The Rioters!

Tuesday, April 25th, 2017

A protest tour from Kochav Hashahar settlement to the Baladim outpost calling for the dismantling of the settlements and outposts that are displacing the residents of the Jordan Valley from their lands.

Last week masked assailants from the Baladim outpost in the Jordan Valley attacked with sticks and stones Palestinian farmers working their lands, and Israeli activists who accompanied them. Read more about the attack here:

This week we will go back there with a clear message: We will not give in to their violence, and will stand in solidarity with the Palestinian residents of the area struggling for their lands.

Women’s Day action- feminist solidarity with Gaza

Pics from the event-

Haim Schwarczenberg

On International Women’s Day 2014 we, feminist activists against the occupation, choose to stand as close as we can to the
northern-most neighborhood in Gaza Strip.

More than a million and a half women and men are living on the other side of the fence, though the Israeli public is completely oblivious to their existence. The daily ordeals, life and experiences of women under siege are hidden from our eyes by walls of concrete, fences and silence.

On International Women’s Day we stand in solidarity with the struggles of women in Israel., Palestine and all over the world who live under oppression .

This year we chose on this day to come and stand here by Gaza, where hundreds of thousands of women are besieged, living in extreme conditions, experiencing water shortage, lack of medical and educational services, limited freedom of movement and poverty.

Let’s open our eyes and look beyond the walls, call for an end of the siege, and an end to the navel and aerial blockade on the Gaza Strip, for life, freedom and dignity
